Made a custom router table for my table saw extension. I double laminated 3/4″ MDF for the table top and used contact cement to attach formica laminate as the top. Once sized and laminated, I cut out the router lift hole with a router for a perfectly snug fit flush with the top.
I attached the Dust Right router dust bucket underneath and mounted a Bosch 1617 router into the JessEm Rout-R-Lift II. I used a rockler safety power switch as an external on/off button and purchased a router fence from TayTools.
Once that was completed, I decided to build a small set of drawers underneath the table for quick access to the router and lift accessories.
JessEm Rout-R-Lift II Router Lift, Bosch 1617 Router, Deluxe 24″ Anodized Aluminum Router Table Fence, Rockler Router Dust Bucket, Safety Power Tool Switch, T Track, 3/4″ MDF, Formica Laminate, Contact Cement
Straightforward build but challenging in that tolerances were tight, the table needed to fit into the table saw arms tightly, and the router lift needed to be set into the cutout with virtually no gap. Learned a lot on this project and got to use some new router techniques.
