Entryway Accent Table

I have an angled corner near the stairs so I made a custom accent table for the main entryway into the house.  The top is made of a live edge walnut slab cut up and arranged to create a river down the middle.  I poured black epoxy for the river and mounted it on top of solid wood legs and a lower shelf.  The lower shelf is a glued panel of walnut and set into dados in the legs.  The front 2 legs are tapered and the back leg is a solid 5″ wide board.

Materials

Walnut, Liquid Glass Deep Pour, Total Boat Penetrating Epoxy, 3/4″ Plywood Filler, TransTint Black Dye

Finish

Rubio Monocoat

Project Notes

Dowel joinery used to align the legs, aprons and lower shelf. Used the dowelmax extensively for perfect alignment. Took a while for set up, but worked beautifully. Lower shelf is a from boards glued into a panel, and set into dado in table legs. Used the taper jig to add a small taper to the two front legs.
